Today marked a significant milestone in our journey as we hit the waters of Currumbin Creek for training, with Lesley by my side. With launch day in 57 days fast approaching, we couldn't have asked for a better location than Queensland, where the conditions were ideal for honing our skills and building our endurance.
As we paddled along the picturesque creek, the sun warming our backs, we couldn't help but feel a surge of excitement. The tranquil waters of Currumbin Creek provided the perfect backdrop for our preparations, allowing us to fine-tune our techniques and test our equipment.
But let's not forget the reality that awaits us. The Murrumbidgee River will present its own set of challenges, and we anticipate frosty mornings as we embark on our expedition. The contrast between the Queensland warmth and the potential cold of the Murrumbidgee serves as a stark reminder of the varying conditions we'll encounter along our journey.
As launch day draws nearer, we will continue to push ourselves, both physically and mentally. Our training sessions will become more intense, preparing us for the demanding adventure that lies ahead.
Stay tuned for more updates as we progress on this incredible path. The countdown to launch day continues, and we are grateful to have your support and encouragement every step of the way.
Together, let's paddle through challenges, embrace diverse conditions, and emerge stronger on the other side. The Long Kayak adventure awaits!
